Our Inn

Hopkins Belize’s Beach Inn for Relaxing Vacation

For over 25 years, customers have enjoyed our small-scale and casual Inn which offers romantic, affordable, and decidedly low-key accommodations on a serene beach. Our intimate and unpretentious beach inn reflects our philosophy that true luxury is in life’s simple pleasures.

Savoring a good novel, napping in hammocks, and watching for manatees is encouraged during your vacation. The distinct culture, friendly Garifuna people, and laid-back pace make an interesting and relaxing vacation. Hopkins Inn is a flip-flop kind of cozy, casual place.

We’re located in the heart of Hopkins Village, Belize, Central America, an authentic Garifuna fishing village, whose customs of drumming and language continue. We’re within easy walking distance to locally owned restaurants, bars, and shops. Check out our travel and food blog--www.BelizeLiving.org-- showcasing our favorite parts of Belize with focus on the Stann Creek area and Hopkins.

Hopkins is centrally located to the ocean, river, and lagoon and is an ideal “base camp” to see all that Belize has to offer.  Many adventure activities such as hiking Cockscomb Nature Preserve, Maya ruins, inland Blue Hole, and zip lining at Bocawina—all make exciting day trips and are close by. The cayes (little islands that are called keys) are a 20-minute boat ride to blue water to snorkel and dive. The reef is further out, on a 50 minute boat ride. We are considered one of the best places in the world for the "grand slam" in fishing. Our neighbor, Floyd, is arguably the best fly fisherman in the village.

Our four cabanas, located just a few steps from the Caribbean Sea, offer the perfect refuge for those who desire a day of adventure followed by a well-deserved nap on the beach. Sunrises can be watched while staying in the comfort of your bed. Cabanas are blissfully free from televisions and clocks for maximizing relaxation. Think Egyptian cotton sheets and pillows, yummy-smelling soaps, and ocean breezes. Our cabanas are ideal for singles and couples. For large families or a group of friends, it is best to rent all four cabanas for maximum comfort.

Our cabanas have vaulted hardwood ceilings and are tastefully decorated with colorful fabrics and Belizean artwork. Rooms are cooled by the ever-present sea breeze. Each cabana has its own private bathroom with hot showers, fans, a mini-refrigerator, coffee-maker, and Wi-Fi. We offer daily cleaning services, except on Sunday’s when our housekeeping staff has a day of rest. The beach cabanas are $120US and the seafront cabanas are $165US. All prices include a 9% hotel tax and continental breakfast.

Our continental breakfast typically consists of fresh tropical fruit and Belizean pastries made by locals. On Sunday’s, we treat guests to an authentic Belizean breakfast with offerings such as fry jacks or breakfast burritos brought by a local baker for guests to enjoy "on their own."
